One-Day Flute Courses in St Albans - Flutes at the Barns Flute Days

Whether you’re keeping in touch between residential courses, or perhaps only have time for the mini-Flutes at the Barns experience, an FATB Flute Day is jam-packed with music, fun and inspiration. Activities include playing together, workshops and warm-ups and the themed Flute Days also include the opportunity to take part in an accompanied masterclass (see individual Flute Day descriptions, below, for more detailed information). The course fee is inclusive of lunch, all refreshments, as well as the wonderful range of fully inclusive music-making.

Flutes at the Barns tutor Zoë Booth is also invited to tutor on Flute Days across the UK, arranged and run by local organisers; contact Flutes at the Barns directly for more information. These are usually private events, however occasionally a group will open their Flute Day to the public, and may be shown below.



Flutes at the Barns Flute Day January 2020 - Focus on Tone
Sunday 26th January, Trestle Arts Base, St Albans,Hertfordshire

A Sunday spent at the beautiful Trestle Arts Base for Flutes at the Barns is always an inspiring and supportive one, and the themes of each Flute Day make them unique experiences for those who take part. Strictly limited to no more than ten players, the January 2020 Flute Day is aimed at players of all abilities and experience looking for ideas on developing the tone, or voice, of the flute. Tutor Zoe Booth will lead workshops on sonority across the range of the flute, projection, variety and embellishment of sound through colour, vibrato and dynamics; four busy sessions of warm-ups will also include ensemble playing relating to the tonal theme as well as the chance to watch and take part in the masterclass (accompanied by Mark Smith), for personalised tips… Read more>>
