Flute Courses for Adults

Whether you’re keeping in touch between residential courses, or perhaps only have time for the mini-Flutes at the Barns experience, an FATB Flute Day is jam-packed with music, fun and inspiration. Activities include playing together, tips on technique and the opportunity to take part in an accompanied masterclass. The course fee is inclusive of lunch in the on-site arts cafe, all refreshments, as well as the wonderful range of fully inclusive music-making.

Zoë is also invited to tutor on Flute Days across the UK, arranged and run by local organisers.  Those open to the public are also shown below.

The first Flute Day of 2018 is open to flute players wishing for inspiration and practical ideas to further their musical creativity and bring added tonal variety to their repertoire. Warm-ups, rehearsals, workshops, a tutor recital and a masterclass (for all who want to play) will focus on widening expressive contrasts, with a particular emphasis on development of tonal colour. Those who wish to perform may play in the accompanied masterclass, to receive personalised suggestions from which others can also benefit. The Flute Day in April 2018 is focussed specifically on music from the 17th and 18th centuries, covering the era of Haydn, Mozart and beyond to include a wealth of music that was unquestionably elegant. Developing nuances and subtle shaping to promote Classical - and also Baroque - authenticity of style, the day will also inform on relevant conventions - including the dances of the day - and offer repertoire ideas.
