Flute Courses for Adults

Whether you’re keeping in touch between residential courses, or perhaps only have time for the mini-Flutes at the Barns experience, an FATB Flute Day is jam-packed with music, fun and inspiration. Activities include playing together, workshops and warm-ups and the themed Flute Days also include the opportunity to take part in an accompanied masterclass (see individual Flute Day descriptions for more detailed information). The course fee is inclusive of lunch, all refreshments, as well as the wonderful range of fully inclusive music-making.

Zoë is also invited to tutor on Flute Days across the UK, arranged and run by local organisers.  Those open to the public are also shown below.

The Flute Day in April 2018 is focussed specifically on music from the 17th and 18th centuries, covering the era of Haydn, Mozart and beyond to include a wealth of music that was unquestionably elegant. Developing nuances and subtle shaping to promote Classical - and also Baroque - authenticity of style, the day will also inform on relevant conventions - including the dances of the day - and offer repertoire ideas. Flutes at the Barns Flute Day - Play Day

10 am - 5 pm, Sunday 17th June 2018


In June 2018 FATB will host its second Play Day, focussed on music-making and maximising playing time. With eight busy sessions of flute choir rehearsals in a variety of styles, we also have time for interactive group warm-ups and a Ensemble Solutions Workshop to ensure a chance for everyone to feel that their playing has benefited whilst they’ve been having fun! Participants may bring their flutes of all sizes and parts will be shared to provide experience of a range of roles within the flute choir.
